Autumn Portrait Specials!!

one of the things i truly miss about michigan (other than family, of course) is the fall season...there's nothing better than driving by autumn foliage...with its beautiful changing colors...bright orange and crisp brown leaves...the site of pumpkins on doorsteps...the smell of warm apple cider...and the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming holidays... autumn...my favorite!

since moving to florida...with no sign of leaves changing...and a slim chance of sporting my favorite sweaters...i remind myself of the season by usually going overboard with fall decorations around my house =) maybe i'll take pictures this year and show you =)

New watermark...

i've been experimenting with a new watermark...and have been really excited to share it with you =) i wanted something clean and simple... and came up with what you see below...i placed the new watermarks on some new nature pictures that i took on a picture walk with dave...a couple of sundays ago we woke up, ate breakfast at panera, and went to several parks to capture mother nature's simple beauty... i hope you like the following images along with my new watermark =)... enjoy!

Just because...

simply wanting to greet everyone a lovely weekend...after i post this i will be preparing to shoot a special event this evening which you'll see the sneak peak of =) then off to yet another birthday celebration later on...it's been a busy birthday month! anywho...that's all i have time for...how i can't wait to blog tomorrow's pictures =) have a great night! xo

Liz & Allen's beautiful wedding...

i apologize for being so disconnected from my cyber family =( my day job began, and back to teaching kids i went...it's been an incredibly busy last three weeks...between starting school, running a business, meeting clients, and shooting...it's been quite a ride! but, it's everything i've ever dreamed of...and more =) and as busy as i am...i wouldn't change a thing!

rewinding back a few months...it was a wonderful summer getting to know and working with my wonderful, wedding photographer...sarah cardenas! it was such a great experience second shooting for her...i learned so much...and we always had a blast!

the following pictures are of Liz & Allen's wedding day! these two are the kindest souls i've ever met...without even knowing me, they were kind and ever welcoming for me to help shoot their special day...if their aura's were visible, it would be bright yellow! full of love, happiness, and sunshine! thank you Liz and Allen for sharing your special day with me...enjoy!

Chris and Carrie had a beautiful beach wedding...it was the perfect day! no rain, some cloud coverage (to minimize the heat), and an extremely happy bride and groom =) i knew from their engagement session that these two were completely in love, and that they truly cared for each other...we had such a wonderful time shooting their wedding! thank you so much for letting us share this memorable day with you! here are the previews...enjoy!!

Family Portraits

i had the best time shooting family portraits with this sweet couple, jessica and jesse...and their baby twins, selah and sarah...they are identical twins!...even though it took several feeding breaks and diaper changes during the shoot, we managed to take some beautiful pictures...i had a great time at the shoot, and such a fun time editing their pictures...these girls are the most adorable babies you have ever laid your eyes on...here are previews from their family portraits...and as jessica warned me...prepare to fall in love! enjoy!

all i can say is... thank you!...since i launched my website, i've had a flood of emails filled with words of love and encouragement... those kind words brought tears to my eyes... it's a very humbling experience to showcase your passion to the world not knowing what the world will think of it... and then to feel like the world has embraced me...what an indescribable feeling...

for me, this year has been filled with many blessings...the year began with a tender proposal from my sweet husband to be...my mom was able to visit dave and i in our home for the first time...my sister's family, with my darling nephews, also made it down to play in the sand's of florida...dave and i trekked all the way up north, on our first major road trip, to spend a week with my family...jamilah's creative touch became an official registered company, and i became a business woman =) and today....

the launch of my website...it's been a wonderful summer making new friends...and sharing captured moments with you... what an amazing feeling to finally launch my website...jamilah's creative touch =) it's been a long time coming...but as they say..."good things come to those who wait"

Javarius: Portrait Session

I’d like to introduce my younger brother, Javarius…well, he’s not really my brother…but soon, he’ll be my younger brother in law =) this is Dave’s younger brother…no, he looks nothing like Dave =) so I wanted to share how Javarius came to be a Newcomer, since it’s such an endearing story…

Dave’s family fostered Javarius when he was nine months old…with a young mother in and out of his life…the Newcomer’s nurtured him and became the only family he knew…after years of living with the Newcomer’s and becoming a part of the family, they decided to make it official…they finally adopted Javarius and made him officially the 5th sibling…(they are a big family, with truly big hearts...and I am so happy to be a part of it =) I've been truly blessed to have a Michigan family...and now a Florida family...

So back to Javarius (aka Jay)...he is 17 now, and is itching to go back to school! He loves basketball, Lebron James, and loves basketball! Did I mention that he loves basketball? =) He was a great sport in modeling for me and being dragged around different locations…Thanks Javarius! Here are previews from his photo session…enjoy!
